Work Parties

background Lord Hill Park trails are maintained and built by volunteers. Snohomish County Parks and Recreation Department does not have the resources to staff this park full time. If you use this park regularly and care about its future, please join us for a work party. We meet at the parking lot, load the park tools into a vehicle and drive everyone into the park. Depending on the size of the group, we may need volunteers to drive their own vehicles. Come prepared to be on the trails for the full day. We can't make exceptions for those wanting to work part of the day. We are not able to drive our vehicles in and out of the park during the work party. No trail work experience is necessary. There are all levels of work to be done. You should be in reasonable health. We have light tasks to do such as raking trails, clipping bushes, picking up litter and more strenuous work such as drainage work, removing mud, rocks and the occasional stump. Work parties are fun and a great way to give something back to the park and meet other park users. We provide instruction for techniques to work on the trails as well as safety information. The parks department provides all the tools. Work gloves, water, lunch, sunscreen, insect repellant and any other personal items Dress in layers and rain gear appropriate for the season Wear warm socks and work boots for muddy conditions FLHRP trail-work schedule for 2010
